Winfield Police Department

•Criminal damage to property, theft: Dollar General was a victim Tuesday in the 1900 block of E. 9th Ave. Shelly R. Wilson Winfield, was arrested for theft, possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia, possession of drug sale paraphernalia, and no drug tax stamp in connection.

•Dog at large, no city pet license: Richard D. Weller, Winfield, was cited Tuesday in the 500 block of Manning St.

•Failure to stop at a stop sign: Julie K. Sutton, Winfield, was cited Tuesday in the 1200 block of Mound St.

•Speeding: Angela K. Lolar, Winfield, was cited Tuesday in the 500 block of N. College St.

•Expired tag, no proof of insurance: Eric T. Fraley, Winfield, was cited Tuesday in the 1400 block of Loomis St.

•Dog at large, no rabies vaccination: Amy C. Moore, Winfield, was cited Tuesday in the 200 block of N. Iowa St.

•No city pet license x2, dog at large x2, no rabies vaccination x2: Sara Moore, Winfield, was cited Tuesday in the 1700 block of Winfield Ave.

•Expired tag: Anthony W. Plyler, Winfield, was cited Tuesday in the 900 block of Stewart St.

Arkansas City Police Department

•Bench warrants: Those arrested Tuesday were Angela Wilson and Patricia Meadows, both of Arkansas City.

•Suspended driver’s license: Those arrested Tuesday were Zachary Capps and Loyd Mason, both of Arkansas City.

•Theft: An Arkansas City woman was a victim Tuesday in the 1400 block of N. Summit.

•Non-injury accident: The State of Kansas was a victim Tuesday at Chestnut and 77 Bypass.

Cowley County Sheriff’s Department

•Missing cows: Deputies took a report Tuesday at the courthouse regarding three missing cows in the 18000 block of 102nd Road. A neighbor had seen them out the day before. They are described as about 8 years old, 1200 lbs, two of them had yellow tags and the third had a hole in the left ear where the tag used to be. If you have information on these cows, contact the sheriff’s office.

•Motorist assist: Deputies conducted an assist Tuesday in the 400 block of E. 9th Ave. and unlocked a vehicle for a driver who had locked their keys inside.

•Juvenile injury: Deputies along with Arkansas City EMS were dispatched Tuesday to the 29000 block of 211th Road regarding a juvenile hit in the head with a rock by a sibling. Patient was taken to the hospital by a parent.

•Burglary, theft: Deputies were dispatched Tuesday to the 28000 block of 312th Road regarding a former tenant entering the rental and removing property belonging to the victim. Items taken were a black leather chair, a television, several picture frames and a comforter.

•Possible missing property: Deputies were dispatched Tuesday to the 22000 block of D. Street.

•Failure to appear warrant: Deputies transported Patrick Ryan Burr, Geuda Springs, on Tuesday from the Hutchinson Correctional Facility to Cowley County Jail. He was booked and remains in custody at the time of this release.

•Notification of testing: Deputies were contacted Tuesday by a company called Enterprise Products who are doing some pipeline testing in the Burden area.

•Motorist assist: Deputies conducted an assist Tuesday in the 20000 block of U.S. 77 for a vehicle on the side of the road with flashers on. Driver was just tired and stopped to rest.

•Non-injury accident: Deputies were dispatched Tuesday to the 19000 block of U.S. 166 regarding a vehicle that had hydroplaned and went into the ditch.

•Motorist assist: Deputies conducted an assist Tuesday in the 25000 block of U.S. 77 for a vehicle on the side of the road with its flashers on. They had stopped due to the heavy rain.

•Criminal use of financial card warrant: Deputies arrested Steven Allen Shepherd, Udall, in the 200 block of N. Hilltop Tuesday. He was taken, booked into Cowley County Jail, and has since posted bond and been released.

•Message delivery: Deputies were dispatched Tuesday to the 10000 block of 286th Road to deliver a message for Arkansas City Police in reference to some found property that had been turned in.

•Failure to appear warrant: Deputies arrested Dawn Gree Cook, Wichita, Tuesday in the 200 block of E. 5th. She was taken, booked into Cowley County Jail, and has since posted bond and been released.

•Car/deer accident: Deputies were dispatched Tuesday to the 9000 block of 211th Road for a one vehicle non-injury accident.

•Expired tag: Deputies stopped a vehicle Tuesday for an expired tag in the 400 block of W. 11th. The driver was also cited for driving on a suspended driver’s license, no proof of insurance and failing to change their address on their driver’s license.

•Suspicious activity: Deputies were dispatched Tuesday to the 3000 block of 11th Road regarding a vehicle dring slowly in the area. The vehicle was not located.

•Pedestrian check: On Wednesday Deputies observed a female walking in the 21000 block of 85th Road. Deputies checked on her and she advised she had just been in an accident. Upon further investigation the accident was located at Ryan Street and 85th Road. The driver, Gabriela Elisa Cantu, Winfield, was also given field sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI. She was taken and booked into Cowley County Jail and has since posted bond and been released.
