How many times has your family disagreed about where to go for dinner? Your son wants a hamburger and your husband is craving Chinese food. 3 Roosters in Winfield has come up with an answer. The restaurant offers both American and Asian cuisine.
Michelle Bounvongxay and her family opened their restaurant Nov. 20, and their menu includes not only egg rolls but chicken fried steak as well. The family believes in serving everything fresh. There are no frozen foods and the cooks take the time to hand bread everything. The restaurant tries to offer a little bit of everything for everyone, said Bounvongxay. Everything is ordered off the menu; there is no buffet. This helps to ensure the freshest food is being served.
3 Roosters also has pho on the menu, which is quite the treat, considering that fans of the brothy soup won’t be able to find a restaurant that serves it within 50 miles of Winfield. Bounvongxay said that the pho soup is the restaurant’s best seller. The sticky rice on the menu has been quite the hit with customers as well.
The family originally owned M&S Delights located in Oxford and Arkansas City. The restaurant needed to expand, so the family business was brought to a larger building in Winfield and renamed 3 Roosters. 3 Roosters refers to Bounvongxay’s children, Pahh, Macalie and Avisa. Bounvongxay says she has one rooster and two hens.
3 Roosters grand opening will be going on Friday through Sunday. The grand opening special is dinner, desserts and drinks for two guests for $25. The special offers the Asian baby back ribs dinner or the 3 Roosters dinner which includes egg rolls, crab rangoon and chicken fried rice.
A drawing will be held for customers offering gift certificates and free meals.
The restaurant is located at 609 Main St. in Winfield. The business is open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, 11 a.m.-9 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m.-8 p.m and is closed Tuesdays.
